This is an aquatint etched print. Each print made in this series is unique since they have to be hand printed with a printing press. An aquatint is a type of printmaking technique where a metal plate is covered with a fine layer of acid-resistant particles, like powdered rosin, which are then "bitten" by acid, creating a textured surface that produces tonal areas in the final print, essentially resembling a watercolor wash effect. This technique has been used along side of the more traditional etching technique of intaglio of lines etched onto a metal plate
